Improvements
The new version comes with a lot of improvements and bug fixes. For example, from now on, the clients can resize the user interface depending on the text length in it. This can be good for the users using a localized version of the clients. Moreover, other crash and lockup-bugs got fixed, so it's recommended to upgrade.
What makes people happier...
New features in Windows Vista and Windows 7 (like virtual Program Files folder) caused that most users had no idea where their clients store its settings. Virtual Program Files caused problems even for more advanced users (sounds logical, since it's hidden, so hard to find).
To eliminate this annoying thing a new .xml file got introduced which is called dcppboot.xml and one can put it next to DCPlusPlus.exe. This file tells your client where to store its settings.
The installable versions of DC++ and BCDC++ both configure themselves to save the configs in your profile directory, so it's easy to backup on reinstall or client upgrade. For example, if you tell the installer to do so, BCDC++ stores its settings in your Documents directory's BCDC++ subfolder. This eases saving and restoring the settings for example if you reinstall BCDC++ or even Windows itself. The installer of DC++ also stores the settings in your profile directory, however that's a little bit harder to see, since that goes to AppData.
If you use the binary package instead of the installer, then it works the old way: the configs go next to your .exe file.
